Extreme

On Wednesday we went to xtreme which is an adventure centre.when were got there we were put in groups and we got straight to doing the activities. these included high ropes and zip lines, ect. i really enjoyed it as it was really fun and i would definitely go back. after we went to liffey valley to have are lunch. overall the day was great.

Scifest and retreat

On Thursday we went to scifest in IT Tallaght. Our project was the amount of bacteria on make-up brushes. We didn't win anything but overall it was a good day. When we got there we had to set up our posters, ect. Then we had to wait for the judges. after the judges were finished they announced the winners. Unfortunately we didn't win anything but it was a good day overall.

On Wednesday we had our Ty retreat. It was at Maynooth College. when we got there i was expecting it to be very boring but it was really good. We started off by playing games. One of them was where we were all in a circle and linked our arms and 4 people had to try and separate us. It was really fun. After that we got into groups and given a topic to talk about. overall the day was very good.

Swim a Mile with a Smile

Every Thursday we are doing Hip hop. we are dancing to "Breakfree" by Ariana Grande and "Run the World" by Beyonce. We are going to be performing this on our graduation night. I am really enjoying it and it is really fun.

We also did Swim-a-mile on Wednesday. we had to swim a mile for Ian Daly . we went to the national aquatic centre and we swam 2 miles in a group of 4. it was really fun. after we swam our mile we went to blanchardstown shopping centre and got out lunch. overall the day was great.

Driving Lessons

this week we went to leinster driving campus where we got to learn how to drive. when we got there we were split into two groups. our group got to drive first. it was really fun. there was 3 of us in the car and there was also an instructor to teach us.

after we finished driving we had our lunch and then we did a theory test in our groups and our group got 37 out of 40. we then tried on the drunk goggles which shows us what it would be like if you drink and drive. we had to put the goggles a pick up a cone and put it onto another cone. it was very funny. overall the day was good.

Easter

Its Friday and its our last day before our 2 weeks off for the Easter holidays.

Work Experience Update:

I am on my 3rd day of work experience at my new placement. I am working in Boots Pharmacy. Basically i stock the shelves and tidy the shelves and change the price tags, etc. I start at 9 am and finish at 4 pm. So far its going good!

Last Friday we had a dress up day for St. Patrick's day. Basically we all had to wear something Irish or green. there was also a parade for the best dressed. St. Patrick's was on Tuesday!

Scifest

Last Friday we had our sci fest projects judged. our project was about the bacteria on makeup brushes. we decided to test a number of brushes using agar plates and the results were very shocking. on the day we had to explain to the judges what our project was about and how we carried out our project. We got through to the next round and hopefully we do well!

We also had a few trips this week. the first one was when we went to watch the schools hockey team in the final. unfortunately they didn't win but it was a very good game. we also went to see the film "Selma" in the cinema this week. The movie was about the civil rights act of 1964. overall the i enjoyed the film.
